Reposition
Marion Bank and Trust Company opened its doors for business on March 17, 1934. In the Great Depression, many banks were failing and in March 1933, President F.D. Roosevelt declared an 8-day banking holiday to prevent a complete collapse of the US banking system. After the holiday, Marion Central Bank was not allowed to re-open, thus Marion Bank and Trust Company evolved a year later. Banks newly completed branch at Jemison is the latest chapter in its continuing story of growth.
