Shortly after the beginning of the town of Colwich, Charles Hyde, a homesteader, businessman, farmer and area postmaster, met with fellow pioneers to organize the Bank of Colwich in 1885.Legacy Bank moved to a brand new Colwich facility at the busy intersection of 53rd Street and 167th Street. Legacy Bank added a seventh branch located in downtown Wichita, Kansas, at Douglas and Wabash.
