A Uniform Gift to Minors Account (UGMA) is a custodial account established under the Uniform Gifts to Minors Act (UGMA) in the United States. It allows parents, grandparents, or other guardians to transfer assets to a minor child as a gift while maintaining control of the account until the child reaches the age of majority.
