Token

On top of already-existing blockchain networks, businesses or initiatives based on blockchain create tokens as units of value. Despite usually being quite compatible with the currencies of that network, they fall under an entirely other class of digital currencies. Tokens are created by platforms built on top of certain blockchain protocols, but the real value of those blockchains is cryptocurrency.
