State Banking Department

A state banking department, also known as a state banking regulatory agency or state banking authority, is an administrative agency at the state level that governs and controls banks and financial establishments within its jurisdiction. Each U.S. state normally has its state banking department accountable for tending to and ensuring the protection and soundness of state-chartered banks and financial institutions.
