Ponzi Scheme

Ponzi schemes are fraudulent investment schemes in which rewards are paid to early investors from new investors' contributions rather than from actual earnings or investments. The fraud is named after Charles Ponzi, an Italian-born con man who rose to notoriety in the early 20th century for running a similar operation.
