Liquidity mismatch refers to a situation where the maturity or availability of a company's assets and liabilities do not align. It occurs when a company's short-term liabilities come due before its short-term assets can generate sufficient cash flow to meet those obligations. This mismatch can create liquidity challenges if the company is unable to quickly convert its assets into cash to fulfill its liabilities.
