Life estate deed

A life estate deed is a legal document that grants ownership and use of a property to a person (known as the life tenant) for their lifetime, while specifying another person or entity (known as the remainderman) who will become the full owner of the property upon the death of the life tenant. The life tenant has the right to use and occupy the property during their lifetime, but they cannot sell or transfer full ownership of the property.
