Internal rate of return

Internal rate of return is a metric used to evaluate the profitability of an investment or project. It represents the discount rate at which the present value of expected cash flows from the investment equals its initial cost or investment outlay. In other words, it is the rate at which the net present value (NPV) of the investment becomes zero.
