Guarantor

A guarantor is a third-party entity that promises to take responsibility for the repayment of a loan or fulfillment of a contractual obligation if the primary borrower or party fails to do so. The guarantor provides a financial guarantee, assuring the lender or counterparty that they will step in and fulfill the obligation in the event of default or non-performance by the borrower.
