Dividends

The dividend is the component of the company's equity distributed to its stakeholders. In a fund, this is the return of a fund's earnings to its investors. A dividend is an allotment of a company's earnings, decided by the board of directors, to a class of its shareholders. The dividend is usually quoted in terms of the dollar amount each share acquires (dividends per share). It can also be quoted as a percent of the current market price or dividend returns.
